Leonardo Barrera


Leonard Barrera is a coastal engineer helping coastal communities engage in the design and construction of resilient coastal infrastructure considering the impacts, risks, and vulnerabilities associated with a changing climate. His background is in engineering, graduating from the University of Miami with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, and a Master of Science in Ocean Engineering.


Barrera works at Cummins Cederberg, Inc., a coastal and marine engineering firm, as a Senior Engineer managing projects related to all aspects of coastal engineering. His interests include coastal resiliency, storm surge modeling, coastal infrastructure design, vulnerability assessments, and flood mapping.
